Choosing the right Douglas Fur.

Douglas Fur is a marvolus piece of engineering. The eyes, mouth and electronics were obviously designed to fit many different creatures. The Fur tree part is separate from the mechanics and raps around the mechanical spine. The tree is held onto the machine by a few wire ties and a lot of hot melt glue. He's all modular and easy to work on.

There are at least 2 breeds of Douglas Fur. The very desirable Douglous_furieous_Halloweenous (DFH) and it's much less desirable cousoun Douglous_furieous_Christmas_onlyous (DFCO). DFH is the one you want. It's easy to work on and can take input from a casset, mike, CD..... DFCO can only sing it's pre-recorded Christmas stuff and (I have been told) is much more dificult to work on.

How to recognise as DFH.

The front of the box mensions personalized messages

 and a special casset tape

The back of the box talks about a AC converter  and an audo patch core and a special christmas casset

You absolutly know you have a DFH if it has an AUX plug
